Welcome to SinglePi (the "Service"), an online LaTeX math equation editor and image-to-LaTeX OCR tool. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SinglePi website located at singlepi.com and its related services.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. About SinglePi

SinglePi is developed and maintained by a team of senior software engineers and academic researchers passionate about making mathematical writing more efficient. Our mission is to provide a free, powerful, and privacy-respecting platform that enables users to:

• Write LaTeX math formulas quickly and intuitively using our online equation editor.
• Convert math images to LaTeX code using our AI-powered OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature.

The Service is provided free of charge and is intended for students, researchers, educators, and anyone who needs to work with mathematical notation.

3. Image to LaTeX OCR — Browser-Only Processing

Privacy is at the core of our OCR feature:

• All image recognition processing runs entirely on your local device using WebAssembly (WASM) and ONNX Runtime within your browser.
• No image data, extracted LaTeX code, or any derived information is ever uploaded to or stored on our servers.
• Your images and formulas are processed locally and remain on your device at all times. SinglePi has no access to the images you upload for recognition.
• We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your academic images, formulas, or recognition results.

4. User Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

• Use the Service lawfully and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Not misuse the Service by attempting to disrupt, overload, or compromise the website or its underlying infrastructure.
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.
• Not use the Service to upload or process any content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes upon the rights of others.

5. Intellectual Property

The SinglePi name, logo, website design, and underlying software (including the LaTeX editor and OCR engine) are the intellectual property of the SinglePi development team. All rights are reserved.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without prior written permission. However, you retain full ownership of any LaTeX code, documents, or mathematical content you create using the Service.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the operation or availability of the Service, including but not limited to:

• The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of OCR recognition results.
• The uninterrupted or error-free operation of the LaTeX editor.
• The suitability of the Service for any particular purpose.

OCR recognition accuracy depends on image quality, formula complexity, and other factors. While we strive to provide high-quality results, we cannot guarantee that all formulas will be recognized correctly.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SinglePi and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, academic grades, research results, or any other damages.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party services:

• ONNX Runtime (WebAssembly) — used for running the AI model locally in your browser.
• MathJax — used for rendering LaTeX equations in the editor.
• Google Analytics — used for anonymous usage analytics (see our Privacy Policy for details).
• GitHub — our source code is hosted on GitHub.

These third-party services operate under their own terms and policies. We encourage you to review them as applicable.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
